November 11, 2007 HOLY CROSS Celebrated 50 YEARS IN FAIRFIELD, OHIO
The church was full on Sunday, November 11th as we gathered to give thanks for our life together as a congregation. There is much for us to give thanks to God.
We give thanks for Kitty Kerestan who was able to orchestrate the coming of our choir and that of Sacred Heart R.C. Church; as well as the trumpeters of Zion Lutheran Church.
We thank our choir members which including a number of extras as well as the choir of Sacred Heart. We thank Mike Engel and Allen Roberts as our guest trumpeters.
We give thanks for Karen Evert who worked with all these groups plus to provide the best of music for this affair.
We give thanks to Trevor Darcy who provided song and guitar for the Psalm.
We give thanks to all of you for participating as one choir lifting up our praise to God.
We give thanks to our Bishop, the Rev. Callon W. Holloway, Jr. who provided us with spoken word that included all of our audience in an engaging and uplifting way. His presence is a reminder of our partnership with many churches.
We give thanks to Sherry Swanson for her leadership in securing the place for the dinner. We give thanks to WELCA for their support in assisting in this portion of the celebration.
We give thanks to Tom Bowling for providing the floral centerpieces at the dinner which many of you were able to take home.
We give thanks to Erik Swanson with help of Diana Barrett in providing the video of memories at the dinner. We give thanks to our new secretary, Jessica Gill who provided us with a good bulletin to be used for our worship celebration.
Above all we give thanks to God who continues to bless us in Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit. May we truly grow in mission as God's people placed here in Fairfield.
